Goodreads synopsisWith Roz and Eva everything becomes a contest—who can snag the best role in the school play, have the cutest boyfriend, pull off the craziest prank. Still, they’re as close as sisters can be. Until Eva deletes Roz from her life like so much junk e-mail for no reason that Roz understands. Now Eva hangs out with the annoyingly petite cheerleaders, and Roz fantasizes about slipping bovine growth hormone into their Gatorade.
Roz has a suspicion about Eva. In turn, Eva taunts Roz with a dare, which leads to an act of total insanity. Drama geeks clamor for attention, Shakespearean insults fly, and Roz steals the show in Lauren Bjorkman’s hilarious debut novel.

My Review:  Boy is Roz ever confused! And its a little hard to read the book, between her fantasies and the reality. The relationship between Roz and Eva is one of a strong sibling rivalry. As an only child it was a little hard for me to understand, but as a mom of two girls I completely understand the drama that goes along with having two girls in the house. I can only sympathize with their parents.
Two girls is high drama naturally, two girls that are budding thespians is Emmy-worthy, soap-opera induced drama. The author mixes in what is actually going on, with what is going on inside Roz's fantasy life, and tosses in some awesome Elizabethan insults.
The insults were the highlight of the book, and the fact that these kids could hurl them (along with regular Elizabethan English) with such ease had me jealous. After all, these days who wouldn't want to call their boss a craven, crook-pated clack-dish? It sounds so much cooler than a bastard or bitch.
